Sending to the wrong network is one of the most common mistakes in crypto and is usually fixable. Anyone can run the check, whether the funds are yours or you are helping someone else get an answer.

Send them the proof. They move the funds themselves, with the open tool, from their own wallet or multisig. Now they can't say it's impossible.

The exchange can
Recoverable by the exchange- Coins sent to an exchange deposit address
- Withdrawn or bridged to the wrong network
- Sitting where only the custodian holds the keys
Send the proof to their support. Only they can execute, and the evidence shows they can.
When it really is gone, we say so. If the funds have already been moved out of the address, or no one holds a key that can reach them, no tool can help, and we would rather tell you that in a minute than sell you hope.
